  15. <p>     DIED. ELIZABETH GLASER, 47, tireless activist for pediatric
  16. AIDS; of complications from AIDS; in Santa Monica, California.
  17. The wife of actor Paul Michael Glaser, she was infected by the
  18. virus in 1981 after receiving a blood transfusion during pregnancy.
  19. Her daughter Ariel died of AIDS in 1988; her son Jake, 10, has
  20. tested positive for the virus. At the 1992 Democratic Convention,
  21. Glaser was a poignant symbol of the struggle against the plague.
  22. "I am here tonight," she said from the podium, "because my son
  23. and I may not survive another four years of leaders who say
  24. they care--but do nothing."
