<p> DIED. ELIZABETH GLASER, 47, tireless activist for pediatric
AIDS; of complications from AIDS; in Santa Monica, California.
The wife of actor Paul Michael Glaser, she was infected by the
virus in 1981 after receiving a blood transfusion during pregnancy.
Her daughter Ariel died of AIDS in 1988; her son Jake, 10, has
tested positive for the virus. At the 1992 Democratic Convention,
Glaser was a poignant symbol of the struggle against the plague.
"I am here tonight," she said from the podium, "because my son
and I may not survive another four years of leaders who say
they care--but do nothing."
